At Shoal Creek Living History Museum we strive to provide a historical and educational program for school aged students. 
The programs listed below are for public schools, private schools, and home school children. 
**Please read all of the information provided below, as there are exceptions discussed. 

School Programs available: 

1 ) School program only (for groups 40 and under)
    · Length of program- Total program time 1.25 hours. Program starts at 10:00am.
    · Cost of program- $6.00 per student and chaperone.
    · Maximum number of chaperones for this program is 5.
    · Educators- 1 educator per 10 students. Educators are free.

This includes 1 hour in the classroom with 15 minutes, at the end, for the students to ask questions about what they have learned. The students will step back in time to 1880 when they walk through the school doors.

2 ) School program with a scavenger hunt (for groups over 40)
    · Length of program- total program time 2.25 hours. Program starts at 10:00am
    · Cost of program - $8.00 per student and chaperone.
    · Maximum number of chaperones for this program is 5.
    · Educators- At least 1 educator per 10 students. Educator are free.

This includes 45 minutes in the classroom and 45 minutes for the scavenger hunt with 15 minutes at the end of each session for students to ask question about what they have learned.

**Example program: Class with 60 students
The class would be divided in half. 30 students in the classroom and 30 students doing the scavenger hunt, lasting 45 minutes each with 15 minutes for discussions. Would then switch groups and repeat. There will also be a 15 minute discussion at the end of the entire program for all teachers, chaperones, and students. 

Chaperones:
1 chaperone per 10 students is allowed. Student fee applies for each chaperone. 

Educators:
At least 1 teacher/educator per classroom is required. Teachers/educators are free of charge.

**Home School groups:
We understand that parents may need to bring their student/s as buses are not usually used. If chaperones exceed the allowed limit for the program, the remaining chaperones may walk around the museum grounds or visit the Hodge Park playground.  **Please note that we do not allow children, under the age of 4, to attend the school program.

Steps in making your Reservation:
1 )  Complete and submit the School Program Request Form  - Click here to download form.
2 )  Once the form is approved and a date has been selected, an invoice will be sent via Square. Please make sure you have provided the correct information regarding which email the invoice is to be sent.
3 )  Once payment has been received, your date will be officially reserved. **Please note that we cannot hold a date, if waiting on funding, as we have a lot of program requests and inquiries. Payment is accepted via Square by using a debit or credit card. (No Cash or Checks Accepted.) A service fee of 3.3% will be applied.

Free parking is available near the entrance to the park. 
Walking pathways are gravel, comfortable shoes are advised.
